The Chill is here and so is Pizza Express’ Winter Menu. We’re loving it!
Pizza Express has become one of our top Pizza dine-out choices lately, and recently they’ve come up with their winter special menu and all we would like to say is that – ‘perfect for the weather’.
All Pizza Express outlets have managed to maintain uncluttered, simple and baked-dough-aroma ambiance and it’s just what is required.
Their staff is always smiling. The waiters are more than happy to give you suggestions and they ask you for a refill on your wine so often that my brother almost made me believe that they get a glass of wine for every refill they pour in ours ( I know I’m gullible) .
Soup- We tried their Pumpkin Soup and the Tomato one. The pumpkin one is perfect-lovely-awesome. It is perfect for this weather and if there was a fireplace in their restaurant, I could just have this soup all evening.
Their tomato soup was not to my liking. A little too thick it did not have the texture that I expect from a bowl of tomato soup. But then, that’s me, my brother liked it. Both soups go spoon-in-mouth with their freshly baked bread basket.
Starters- the Chicken wings outdid our expectations with the home-made BBQ sauce. We also tried the Spinach Artichoke Tuffo with dough balls. I would say it might appeal to Artichoke fans, but I am not one of them.
Pizza- *insert all the foodgasm here* We tried the Calabrese Verde and it had the perfect thickness of the base, right amount of toppings and sauce. Loved it.
We wanted to try everything on their winter menu so we ordered the Pasta as well. We went for the Penne Con Cilantro, but we could not find a strong flavour of coriander pesto in it. It said spicy on the menu but it was more on the mild side I would say.
Dessert- I was in love with their warm berry crumble after the first bite. We even named it Very-Berry-Awesomeness because it was so nice. It had a warm berry compote with butter crumbs topped with vanilla gelato. Go for it! Go for it! Go for it!
After eating so much, we found the Chocolate cheese cake too dense and heavy (or maybe it was). But it can’t compete with their berry crumble.
The best part is that you can get all of the above in a combo at a very reasonable price so that adds another reason to go try it.
