Serendipity is what I will call this! Spotted this cafe in Janakpuri and loved it! Read on for more:
We had traveled all the way to Janakpuri from South Delhi for some work and were starving by the end of it. Searched for places on Zomato and this cafe caught our eyes. Decided to make this our lunch place and went for it. Upon entering, the first thing we noticed were the tastefully done up decor! This Cafe, has a pizzeria with wood fired pizzas outside and a bakery inside. The decor, extremely tastefully done up by the owner himself, includes a wall covered with books, another wall covered with movie posters, some artistically done up tables and wall mirrors and u know what, the sofas we sat on were super comfortable! Aren’t the pictures inviting ? 😉
We started by ordering some drinks and starters which we liked so much that we ordered a lot of mains and desserts. Bloated tummies at the end of the meal but totally worth it !
Watermelon Mojito which was very refreshing, Berry smoothie which was sweet and filling. Cold coffee which was perfectly balanced between sweet and strong.
Smoked chicken salad: Quite a fresh salad with smoked chicken chunks, grapes, sundried tomatoes, parmesan, mixed greens, walnuts and sour cream. One bite was sweet and the other was sour and crunchy..lovely!Cheesy Seekh: Mutton seekh wrapped with oodles of cheese and was heavenly! Never thought of seekh with cheese and loved it .Chilli Butter prawns: Jumbo prawns in a perfect chilli butter sauce. Both the flavors were perfect and The best chilli butter sauce that we have had.Chicken Tikka Pizza: Wood fired pizza from their pizzeria had a crisp thin crust and the toppings were lavish.Fish and chips: A classic dish done well here. Fans of this dish since I was a kid and this place didn’t disappoint either. The serving was huge with a lot of fries and two large chunks of fried fish.White sauce pasta: Oh so cheesy and so large!! Found it at par with the the famous Big Chill cafe. We ordered it with prawns and they were jumbo!
Red Velvet: Very soft and spongy.Toffee Cake: Banoffee is the most common ‘toffee’ dessert but this was a pleasant change. A medium sweet cake with layers of toffee inside and on top.Hazelnut Brownie Cheescake: One of the best cheesecakes and different from the usual. Has a brownie base and the hazelnut flavor in the cake was subtle and apt.
Some places really touch your heart and this is one of them. Next time we are going to West Delhi, we are going here again! Have been recommending this place to all my friends and family ever since and really hope they open up more branches soon! Waiting waiting waiting!
