SET’Z, a place I had been wanting to visit ever since I saw it as a kid! Situated in the premium DLF Emporio mall in Vasant Kunj, this place is surrounded by all class A Designer stores from across the world. Armani, LV, Versace…name it and It is there! I guess this is enough for you to now know the type of crowd and ambience this place has. SET’Z is indeed classy!
The name SET’Z has no meaning but the logo is basically a top view of a cut bark signifying it’s strength and importance. SET’Z is sprawling and also has a roof top seating. Have look at the pictures below. The ambience shouts ‘simple is classy’ and we indeed agree! By the way, do visit the fancy washroom!
You get to select the Dishes for the new menu that launches in 2017! Read on for how:
Upon reaching there, we learnt that the menu is to be revamped in the first quarter of 2017 and that is going to include dishes that the customers love. Nice idea isn’t it? If the dishes are selected by us, this place would be the go-to place in 2017! We were given the privilege to select from the ‘new menu’ trial dishes and we ordered quite a few. We have given our suggestion to the management and hope to find them in the menu in 2017.
Also, to cut down on the overall bill, SETZ has launched a new ‘Low priced menu’ for the drinks with drinks starting at just INR 199 !! You can now chill at this place in DLF Emporio even if you are low on budget 😉
Coming to the food, SET’Z has always been known for its Indian delicacies and we tried some of them. We also tried their coastal food along with.
In the starters, the best was the Charmoli Kebab made with wild almond. Superbly amazing taste and super soft. Definitely going back for this kebab. Some of the others like the Khumb Shikampuri which was a mushroom kebab and Kathal Mamra kebab made with kathal was also really good! SET’Z proved it that their forte is in Indian cuisine. In the seekh section, our favourite was the Mutton seekh as it was soft and had a flavor of Kewra which we love! The other Chicken seekh was decent.
Vegetable Gassi was a mix vegetable dish with south indian flavors due to Coconut. Telanagan Bhindi was a spicy and super crispy bhindi. Deep fried dish that went well with the curries. Bhindi Tamatar Sev had a tomato gravy with okra in it.
Murg Lehsuni was yummy! Almond and garlic flavor went well will chicken. Ghosht Dalcha was the best with mutton cooked in a thick lentil based gravy. It was rai, cinnamon and onions in it.
The highlight of every meal is always the desserts and no exception at SET’Z. We ordered an assorted platter which had coconut barfi, custard apple payasam, anjeer ki kheer, thande gulab ki kheer and khubani ka meetha. All were different from another and lip smacking. Our personal favourite was the gulab ki kheer. Everything was medium sweet making it possible for it to polish the platter. This was enough and we ordered some tiramisu as well 😛 A soft one and presented well. The amount of coffee could be reduced a wee bit though.
Overall, SET’Z made our hungry soul very very happy and we came out with happy faces! They made their customers feel important as we gave our suggestions for the new menu and you can do so too! But first, head to DLF Emporio 😀
