The Kathis, a brand with an outlet in every part of Delhi and known to most, was one of the first kathi chains. This existed long before even Khan Chacha opened! As children, we had been getting rolls picked up from here (from the Saket Branch) before my movie at PVR or right after that. We have sort of developed a taste for these. You surely get fancier and bigger kathi rolls in the market but if you have developed a taste for it. You will still have it. Similar is the case with us.
One thing common to most outlets: The seating is very casual with extremely little attention paid to it. Don’t know the reason behind it but yea, we guess they encourage more of Pickups and Deliveries rather than Dine-ins.
Keeping in sync to the brand, there is another branch in DLF Phase 4, Supermart 1 and we got two Kathi Rolls packed for us: Single Egg Single Chicken roll and Paneer Roll.
Wrapped in a maida Parantha (more like a less flaky Malabar parantha) , the kathi rolls were decent. Found the paneer version tastier than the chicken version as the chicken a bit hard and less in quantity. Liked the crunchiness of onions though. Their Green chutney was to our liking and we don’t like spicy chutneys.
We found this branch of The Kathis no different from the rest and would like to order some rolls again for sure. Cheap, rolls churned our quickly and free childhood memories along J
